Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato Continuation: debut at the 24 hours of Le Mans

On the occasion of the 24 hours of Le Mans, the House of Gaydon will present the new Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato Continuation, is a gem of engineering and style born to bring to the limelight the original model, produced from 1960 to 1963.

The car will be produced in only 19 specimens , and will be part of the prestigious “DBZ” Century Collection”, an exclusive collection that will also include DBS GT Zagato. The cars are not sold separately and the price for winning them is mind-boggling 6 million pounds (excluding taxes) amounting to almost 7 million euro.

DB4 GT Zagato: as the original (or almost)

As all the cars in the collection, Continuation, the DB4 Zagato was created by Aston Martin in the renowned headquarters of the division to Heritage to Newport Pagnell, in Buckinghamshire, and is the result of about 4500 hours of meticulous work.

Thrust from a propeller 4.7 6-cylinder in-line (revised compared to the original) is able to provide about 390 HP; the DB4 is of course rear-wheel drive and is equipped with a four-speed gearbox and a differential-mechanical, not lacking the roll cage made according to the official regulations of the FIA.

The panels of the bodywork were made of aluminum and shaped by hand according to the tradition, under the hood there is the tubular chassis, lightened to achieve a better handling through the curves.

In conclusion, the prestigious “DBZ Collection” that includes the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation and the DBS GT Zagato Continuation, expected delivery times different for the cars: the first will come towards the end of 2019 while, the DBS, will arrive towards the end of 2020.
