It was a 24 hours of Spa-Francorchamps skillful for Porsche and the team GPX Racing; a Kevin Back in full form and gave the victory and so much spectacle on the track with overtaking the limit of the impossible.
Despite the weather conditions very difficult and have affected the entire race, thanks to a strategy that is appropriate, the team GPX Racing has been able to capitalize on the best of the incredible situations that happened during the competition and it has earned so fully in the first step of the podium.

Kevin Nationalism, the king of the 24 hours of Spa
After depositing only the 11th place in the Superpole yesterday, the Porsche 911 GT3 R of Kevin Nationalism, Michael Christenden and Richard Litc fly in the rain.
Thanks to an impressive performance of the French rider, on the flat six rock solid and the rear engine, the 911, the #20 had climbed the ranking Pro, claims that its dynamic attributes, especially in out of slow corners, where the weight distribution of the car to Stuttgart offered more grip to the rear wheels.
Even after the long suspension of the race due to severe weather conditions, the return on the track (happened at 11.15 am this morning) did not upset the balance; Maro Engel and the crew of the Black Falcon Mercedes, the authors of the pole position in qualifying, have tried long to resist the attacks of the two Porsche, #20 and #998, but, in the end, they had to give way.
The race ended with the second Porsche with GPX Racing on the top step of the podium, second place for Rowe Racing, and the lowest for the team Black Falcon (Mercedes AMG). Porsche hadn’t won the 24 hours of Spa-Francorchamps from 2010 and, after this long fast, the two teams can be more than satisfied with the performance on the track.
Great performance also for the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 #563 team Orange 1 FFF, the only crew with Italian drivers Marco Mapelli and Andrea Caldarelli) to hit, after a series of misfortunes and penalties, the top 10 finishing in eighth place. Wrong Ferrari, which, after the excellent qualifications, cannot find the quadra in the rain.
Pro-AM: Aston Martin to the top
In the Pro AM category is the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 of team Oman Racing by TF Sport to win the first position.
A solid performance from the part of the pilots and the mechanics, Nicki Thiim (after the bad experience at the 24 hours of Le Mans) can finally celebrate with teammates the victory earned miles after miles under the deluge of belgium.
Behind the Vantage, with more than a lap, close in second and third place in two Mercedes AMG GT3, Ram Racing and Strakka Racing.
AM category: Ferrari wins
So much satisfaction in the Rinaldi Racing Ferrari 488 GT3 who wins the victory in the category AM.
The team, composed by Christian Hook, Manuel Lauck, Alexander Mattschull and Hendrik Still is the only one to bring a car of the Prancing horse on the podium of the 24 hours of Spa, with a lap of advantage over the opponents.
Second and third place instead monopolized by Lamborghini with Barwell Motorsport and Raton Racing by Target; both the cars and the teams alternated the lead with the Ferrari winning by up to half of the race, and then earn a decent posting until the end of the competition.
The Silver Cup: Lamborghini triumphs
Silver category is the razor-sharp Lamborghini Huracan GT3 #78 to beat the competition. The team, composed by Sandy Mitchell, James Pull, and Jordan Witt has long struggled against the Mercedes team, AKKA, ASP, after 12 hours, leading the race. The pit-stop strategy, combined with the concentration of the drivers, with the Lamborghini, however, has given its fruits, allowing him to gain the victory.
Second place for the Mercedes #90 , and the lowest step of the podium for the Mercedes #6 of team Black Falcon, thanks to an excellent performance of the Italian Gabriele Piana.
The 24 hours of Spa in numbers
Impressive the number of tyres brought here in Belgium by Pirelli: 15.000, 13.000 of which are dedicated only to the endurance race.
Over 41°C Thursday and Friday have created big problems of overheating of the tyres of the cars; the problems then vanished over the weekend with temperatures close to 13 °C during the night session. In addition, the continuous alternation between situations of wet asphalt and damp, they put in great difficulty the pilots are forced to “experimenting” to find the necessary grip in the entrance and exit of the curve.
The bad weather has not discouraged the many fans who watched the match from the stands, a symptom of great passion for the true motorsport; the Total 24 hours of Spa is reconfirmed, then, the most awaited event of the year in the category GT3 in Europe.
