Seat has been forced to halt production in the factory of Martorell in the days of Thursday and Friday because of the violent protests that occurred in Barcelona after the conviction to the prison of the leading separatists of Catalonia. It was the Spanish daily newspaper La Vanguardia, which has specified that the turns skipped are five, for a total production of 3,500 cars.
Seat has decided to stop production in order to avoid that the employees of the factory in Martorell, near Barcelona, incurring in problems in getting to the plant. Offices in Martorell have remained open, but employees were given the option of working from home.
