BMW i8 Limelight Edition: shrill and “eco”

THE PULL VIA THE SKIN – A unique model to celebrate the style and environmental sustainability: this is the goal of the collaboration between BMW and the Italian company Alcantara, which produces the well-known coatings of the fabric. The car is a BMW i8 Roadsternamed Limelight Edition: the lines of the future of the spider plug-in hybrid are highlighted by special paint acid green, which stands out on the black detailing of the moldings and alloy wheels. The interior features the same color contrast, and instead of leather uses the Alcantara, which, in practice, covers every element of the interior, from the seats to the door panels.

HYBRID – The BMW i8 Roadster is a spider presented at the end of 2017: as the coupe is powered by a hybrid system composed by the three-cylinder 1.5 turbo petrol engine from 231 horsepower and drives the electric 143 HP. Using all of the 374 HP of combined power can pounce from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds and reach the maximum speed of 250 km/h. At the same time, thanks to battery, and an 11.6 kWh, the i8 Roadster can travel more than 50 km with zero emissions. A nice demonstration of how driving pleasure can go hand-in-hand with the eco-sustainability, and more so with the new coatings: for ten years, in fact, the Alcantara produces with a balance of CO2 emissions.
