LimoJet | When a limousine is not enough…

America is not new to this kind of initiatives in the automotive field, but also because the laws allow extravagance without problems homologation / insurmountable, as in Europe, but airplanes converted to drive until today we had seen a few.

One of these is the LimoJet, a vehicle of the royal aeronautical thought of starting from a fuselage LearJet to which has been added a tubular structure (in the style of the race car) and a V8 engine by General Motors 8.1-liter…

The aesthetics of the plane, wings part, it has been almost completely maintained like the rest of the space on board that is designed to carry up to 18 people. A passenger ultra-luxury, with everything you need in terms of technology and comfort on board but also to “find” in american-style as the audio system “sfondatimpani” for both the internal and the external: the 17.000 watt has, in fact, they play inside, but also outside, thanks to an audio system mounted within the housing of the motors and in the lower part of the fuselage. How to say that, if necessary, the LearJet can act as their own DJ console portable with dedicated audio and dance that people…

Long 13 metres, with a width of 2.4 and 3.5 metres high, the LimoJet is not born certainly to be sporty in performance, also because it weighs 11 tons, but the idea of creating a car, from a plane is certainly original, and the use of technical elements derived from the GM truck and the wheels from 28″ have allowed this realization to touch 160 km/h of maximum speed against a level of stability sufficient for safe travel to the limits imposed by the american highways.

Started at the beginning of the years 2000, the construction of this LimoJet is to be completed in 2018 and has now been decided to put it up for auction and was to be wrought in the course of the event, Mecum Indy 2020 from 23 to 28 June, but due to Coronavirus the event was clearly delayed as the fate of this amazing limo.
