Mit: allocated 455 million for road works

New step forward on the long journey to safety and the correct maintenance of the national roads: by the end of June will be paid 50% of the resources in the deposit, found in the budget of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport on the Fund’s Investments in 2019, an important injection of liquidity to sustain the coffers of the local authorities.

Thanks to the agreement reached with the Anci (National Association of Italian Municipalities) and Upi (Union of Italian Provinces), the resources are allocated using the criteria of the consistency of the road network, the accident rate and the vulnerability of the territory with respect to the hydrogeological.

In particular, the metropolitan city of Rome has been allocated the additional sum of € 4 million to share in the annuities from 2020 to 2023.

All the resources that MIT had allocated and attributed to the year 2018 in the field of road safety have been spent by the end of June 2019, to confirm the effectiveness of this measure, while continuing the monitoring of the resources allocated for the 2019.

The total of the budget today amounts to 459.165.664 euro, 455.165.664 to be distributed among all the Provinces and Cities of the Ordinary-Statute Regions and of the Regions of Sardinia and Sicily on the years from 2019 to 2033, and, in fact, the 4,000,000 euro attributed specifically to Rome, one for each of the annuity from 2020 to 2023.

The sum of 310.471.928 euro, which refers to the annuity from 2025 to 2033, will be subject to a further decree for the purpose of defining the timing, mode, and any changes in the weighting of the coefficients of the breakdown.
