Ford experiments with its new paint is anti-guano

Leave often own the car in the street, as happened to many in the period of the lockdown, exposing the drive not only to the weather, but also to the excrement of the birds. A beautiful nuisance, this, that, in the long run, it can also ruin the paint of the bodywork. Especially in the spring and summer, because the heat tends to expand the paint, which, once raffredatasi, it contracts, allowing the dirt to stick to the solid and, at times, to leave a alone.

To understand how to work around this problem, Ford has developed a paint, anti-guano , and has been tested thanks to the excrement produced artificially in the laboratory, by analyzing carefully the dietary habits of european birds. The patina developed by Ford, in essence, is capable of protecting the car from the manure of any acidity. The corrosion protection has been tested up to the limit, placing the paint samples in a furnace at temperatures between 40 and 60 degrees, in such a way to replicate conditions of extreme heat.

Not only that, the paint samples are also exposed to rays of ultraviolet light, for a maximum of 6,000 hours, so simulating a stay of five years in the most luminous of the earth; they are frozen at temperatures below freezing; and are exposed to the dirt road, and stains of fuel coming from the supply in service stations. In any case, it is always good to immediately remove the excrement from the varnish, so as to remove the substances in a timely manner.
