The Ferrari take to the track tomorrow – June 23 – to prepare for the start of the World 2020 Formula 1. Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc to drive the Ferrari SF71H of 2018, on the Mugello circuit and will take off a bit of rust, after three and a half months from the last day of winter testing in Barcelona.
You back in the action. The Ferrari is not the first team to arrange a test with the car of 2018, to enable its pilots to train before the resumption, scheduled for April 5 on the occasion of the Grand Prix of Austria. To avoid the mileage limit (100 km) typical of the “filming day”, the Mercedes was the first to bring its two drivers at Silverstone and the same thing he did in the Renault, by turning on the Red Bull Ring. Now it’s the Ferrari that will go on the track with the SF71H on the circuit of Mugello. These tests allow the team to try out the strict protocols related to the Covid-19, to which they must adhere during the race weekend, to ensure the safety of personnel. At the same time, allow the riders and all the staff to resume their rhythm in the operations on the track.
Mugello in the race for the World. The Scuderia Ferrari has chosen to carry out the test at Mugello for the pure case. The circuit of the tuscan – which, remember, is owned by the Ferrari – we are continuing to talk about a lot these days, because there seem to be very real possibility that the plant guests a stage of the Formula 1 World championship in 2020, replacing one of the events cancelled because of the Covid-19. According to the latest rumors, the GP at Mugello could be held immediately after the GP of Italy at Monza, and then leave room for a double appointment at the Portimao circuit, in Portugal. The negotiations are still in progress, but the Ferrari seems to portend the possibility of running the GP number 1000 of their own history on the home track.
