Volkswagen – Growing demand: stop at the part-time in German facilities

From 1 July, the German facilities of the Volkswagen have taken the shifts to normal, by interrupting the use of part-time employment. The measure concerns, in particular, the plants of the brand of Wolfsburg, the division of commercial vehicles and parts industry: Brunswick, Chemnitz, Emden, Hannover, Kassel, Osnabrück, Salzgitter and Wolfsburg (in Dresden and Zwickau you do not use part-time already since a few weeks).

The reasons. The German manufacturer has attributed its decision to the good performance of demand: “Thanks to the opening of the concessionaires, and special promotional offers, the order situation has recently developed in a positive way”. “However – adds the human resources manager Arne Meiswinkel – it is extremely difficult to predict further developments. Therefore, we will keep an eye on the situation to react in line with demand”. Currently, the rate of utilization of the plants of the Volkswagen brand amounted to between 75 and 95% of the production levels pre-coronavirus.
