F. 1, GP Great Britain – Free practice 1, Verstappen is the fastest

The first session of free practice for the Grand Prix of Great Britain bears the signature of Max Verstappen. The pilot of the Red Bull stopped the clock on 1:27.422, ahead of half a second to the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton and Racing Point of Lance Stroll, scoring his best time on a Soft tyre.

A welcome return. The Racing Point remains very competitive at Silverstone, which is also the home race for the team, which has its headquarters a few hundred meters from the runway. In addition to the third time Stroll is there to report the ninth time of Nico Hulkenberg, starting from this race replaces Sergio Perez, who has the contract, the Covid-19. Hulkenberg was on track with the RP20 in the course of this session, after seven months of total inactivity, and, in spite of this, he immediately settled down well.

The beginning just for the Ferrari. While Charles Leclerc has obtained the fifth place in the standings, just half a second from Hamilton on equal rubber, the SF1000’s Sebastian Vettel had a technical problem. After two laps on the track, the German was called to the pits for a problem of the intercooler which has more permission to get back on track during the session.
