Led the WAY – With the word Ioniq, born from the union between the English terms ion (ion, in Italian) and unique (only), the Hyundai has defined its projects in the field of sustainable mobility and hybrid engines, or electric. Ioniq has also become the name of the car to bring on the road to these studies, a compact sedan unveiled in 2016 among the first to have three sections-green: the hybrid engine, hybrid, with batteries rechargeable from the outside, and electric. Now Ioniq a step further and becomes the name of a family of electric cars, with the first three models, coming in 2021, 2022 and 2024, and others that will follow.

FREEDOM IN STYLE – The Ioniq will continue to be designed and produced by the Korean manufacturer, but the intention is to make them drive themselves are not related stylistically to the other Hyundai. And in fact, for the look of the compact crossover Ioniq 5, the inspiration will come from the prototype 45 last year (see here), with smooth surfaces and corners marked to remember the prototype Pony Coupe of 1974, the work of Giorgetto Giugiaro, which was the first car to carry the Hyundai brand. In 2022, we will Ioniq 6, large sedan that will have much in common with the prototype of Prophecy revealed in march 2020, therefore, with a rounder shape and arched roof.

AD HOC BASIS – At the beginning of 2024, we will Ioniq 7, large suv, that unlike the other Ioniq is not inspired by the prototype already revealed, but Hyundai has anticipated that it will have a slender silhouette and an athletic look. The three models will be based on the new platform for electric cars AND-GMP, a versatile basic construction that promises advantages in terms of utilisation of space and connectivity.

GREAT GOALS – it IS also through the Ioniq that Hyundai aims to sell 1 million electric by 2025, reaching 10% of the registrations are global among the cars battery.
